Raffaldini Vineyards

This highly regarded Yadkin Valley winery is tucked away on the back roads of the city of Ronda, North Carolina.  Surrounded by acres and acres of rolling hills and sprawling vineyards, this is definitely an amazing landscape. Outside the Raffaldini estate appears as a castle from the Tuscany region of Italy. Inside, the decor and atmosphere of the wine bar are just as impressive. You will feel as if you are in an Italian villa.

This is a Yadkin Valley winery, however if you’re currently in the Winston-Salem area, searching for traditional Italian wines, Raffaldini vineyards is only about a 20 mile drive west of the city of Winston-Salem. It also serves as a great restaurant with an extensive Italian menu.

Wines

Traditional Italian Wines at Raffaldini Vineyards

North Carolina is famous for their muscadine wines but many people find these wines a little too sweet and would rather find a good traditional wine. If this describes your feelings about wines and your near the Yadkin Valley then you need to visit Raffaldini Vineyards.

The cost of a bottle of wine varies from $13-21. The wine tasting at the time of writing this is $5 per person and they have either 10 or 11 wines here.They do have a wine club you can join to receive discounts

The best wines here?

This is only a matter of opinion but below are a list of a few wines you may want to include in your wine tasting.

Two white wines you need to taste

  • Pinot Grigio –  A dry white. With hints of apples, pears and lemons.
  • Vermentino – A Mediterranean wine which has won numerous top awards at wine competition in the state of California. A very good wine. A very clean and crisp mineral wine with flavors of green apple, lime and pepper.

Red wines that need tasted

  • Montepulciano Red 2010 – Intense tastes of strawberries, plum and hints of flowers and leather all in one delicious bottle. This red wine won the North Carolina’s Governors Cup for best in show.
  • Sangiovese Riserva Red 2010 – Was awarded a Silver Medal at both the San Diego and Denver International Wine Competitions. This is an excellent smoky and warm red.

Restaurant

Raffaldini serves as an amazing Italian restaurant in the Yadkin Valley as well. You will find delicious Antipasta dishes, Paninis and more. The menu is too extensive to completely list for you here.
