Wineries Knotts Island

At Martin Vineyards you can Sample the great muscadine wines made from both red and white grapes grown in their vineyards. Or take a relaxing walk through the vineyards itself, where your eyes will automatically be drawn to the grapes hanging from the vines, ripe and bursting with juices. They look perfect for both eating and wines.

These flavorful grapes are the result of the special micro environment created by the coastal winds kissing the sandy soils at bay of Knotts Island. Yes, this vineyard is right on the bay, providing a very scenic view.

If you’re visiting Knotts Island and also a person who loves great wine, then Martin Vineyards is definitely one of the attractions you need to mark down in your itinerary.

And there’s more than just good North Carolina wines here.

Martin Vineyards has a strong selection of wines

The wines are tasty and include a variety of Reds (dry, sweet, semi-sweet) and dry white wines.

Two of the very best wines here that you will want to include in your wine tasting experience (which is really fun at the vineyards) these wines are

  • The red wine name Grand Ole Osprey.
  • SnowGeese – If you like the taste of peaches, this wine is a combination of muscadine and peach wine. A very tasty wine that was recognized as one of the best wins at the North Carolina state fair.
There are many other wineries on the N.C coast producing very high quality wines

Since I haven’t ate at this vineyard, can’t say for sure what’s on their menu, you may want to check out the Martin Vineyards for more information.

Not only is Martin Vineyard is both a winery and a Orchard where you can pick various types of fruit to take home and enjoy. July of this year, I pick about 20 pounds of peaches to take home with me and they were delicious.

Other fruits to pick here:

  • Apples
  • Scuppernong Grapes
  • seedless grapes
  • Pumpkins

Knotts Island

If you have never heard of Knotts Island, not only can you visit Martin Vineyards but the island is also a great place to visit if you love nature. Especially, if you’re a photographer who loves nature.  The island environment and wildlife will definitely provide you with many opportunities to for some really great photos of nature. I recommend you visit the Mackay Island National Wildlife Refuge.
