Advantages of Attending:

You may have some friends who plan on attending a big 4-year university straight out of high school. You may feel some people look at you as not being smart when you say you plan on attending a community college.

Eases the transition from High school to College - Small classes means you will receive more one on one attention from the professors as you are beginning to learn college level curriculum.

You will save thousands of dollars in tuition costs - The tuition costs at 4 year universities has sky rocketed in recent years and there is no end in sight to these rising costs. By attending a less expensive community college for your first two years and then transfering to a four year college your total costs will be much lower

Allows you to live at home - There are many advantages to this. Save money, allow yourself a couple extra years to mature.

Gives you time to think about your career path before committing - Once you finish high school and are ready to beginning your academic journey at a 4-year institution.

Increases your level of Academic confidence - With the increased one on one time with professors available and smaller class sizes, on average a student starting out at a community college will have a much higher GPA in their first 2-years compared to if they started at a larger 4-year institution. This is really helpful if you decided to go on to earn your bachelors degree.

Why Join a Gym in Raleigh, NC

I have worked-out both at home and at many different gyms. Working out at home does have its benefits and advantages but to be effective it requires the person to have some knowledge of different exercise techniques and how to perform these properly or at least the willingness to learn.

If you are new to fitness and would really like to work-out at home instead of joining a gym then let me suggest:

If you have no knowledge of even the basic exercises then  joining a gym at least for the short term will help you learn how to exercise properly. What would also help you, learning the names of different exercises and for these on YOU TUBE and watch how these exercises are properly preformed. Or there are many different videos available that will give you a comprehensive and orderly view of how to exercise.

How being at a gym helped me:

When I first joined a gym I was still in high school, I was intimidated. But one thing that really helped me to get started was by just getting in my car and driving a couple miles to work-out.

Why did this help me? Maybe I’m different from you but to me if I took the time to get in my care and drive there, then I HAD to go in and work-out. Even though I initially felt intimidated, I would have felt like a complete idiot to myself if I drove there and then turn around to go home without working out. I wasn’t going to waste my time and gas money just to drive and then turn around.

Whether at home or at a gym the key to reaching your fitness goals is to committed yourself for the long term and also proper nutrition.

Many people prefer to exercise at home and many people get great results at home with just a few dumbbells. Joining a gym is not for everyone. A few of the common reasons why a person might not join a gym:

1. The membership cost

2. Distractions.

3. Inconvenience of getting there.

5. Pushy workers trying to sell supplements and personal training lessons.

4. Unsanitary.

5. Intimidated

Raleigh Wineries with Restaurants

If you’re in Raleigh and interested in dinning at a winery, below are two very different and good options. Both options offer an unique dinning environment compared to the run of the mill restaurant in the Raleigh area.

If you like having a glass of wine to accompany your meal when you dine out but your not an expert at matching food and wine its always nice to have that expertise on hand to help guide you to the right wine.  Many restaurants in the Raleigh area do have wine lists but are lacking in true expertise in matching wines and foods.

Dine with the wine experts in Raleigh

The two best options:

Enoch Winery & Bistro - Located about 20 miles south of Raleigh on Highway 40 in the city of Benson. The Bistro at this winery has a healthy selection of appetizers ranging in price, from $3 for their pimento cheese to $7 for their shrimp cocktail. Also, eggplant, salsa and chips, spinach dip and many other apps to choose from.

For the main entrees they have steaks, sandwiches and specialty dishes such as Hawaii Chicken, Pesto Chicken and many other specialties ranging in price from $8-12.

Also a kids menu, salad bar and wine, beer and mixed drinks.

Good food for a reasonable price. See their entire menu here.

Read our full review of Enoch Winery.

Uncorked – Located in the city of Raleigh (map is below for directions). Uncorked isn’t officially a winery but this place exhibits both a tremendous knowledge and selection of wines. They have 48 different wines you can taste. I would more call this a tasting room with a restaurant.

As for the food menu at Uncorked. You will find a selection of salads, flatbreads, Paninis, Reuben Sandwiches, Shrimp tacos and more. The hummus and Fromage slate here are both delicious. The prices are reasonable, you will spend about $10-13 for a meal here.

Get directions to Uncorked by clicking the red marker and entering the address of your departing location.
