The grounds and the inside of Lu Mil Vineyard absolutely charming. You won’t be disappointed. You can even rent one of the luxurious cabin on the vineyards. There’s a big grassy hill and two large ponds the cabins overlook and the vineyards are located to the side. Very nice views from the cabins.

Wines

We do believe the selection and quality of the wines offered here is decent.

Not the very best but decent enough.

And since we all have different tastes it’s completely possible you may find your new favorite wine here. If you do this winery does offer the option to buy online from their website.

Always a good option if you are someone who lives to far to visit frequently.

Wines recommended

Old Cumberland – A very soft white wine with tastes that resonate great with light meals such as salads. This wine is made from a blend of Scuppernong and Carlos grapes. But its not too sweet.

Sir Walter Raleigh – A traditional red wine with. The wine has a sweet intense sweet. Made from a blend of muscadine and Noble grapes.

The cabins are very sweet to stay in

The cabins here are very clean and all have modern amenities. A few of them even have heart shaped tubs.

There’s six different cabins to choose from. Take a look on at the cabins on their website.

Wine

What about the wines?

This winery offers a great selection of Reds and Whites. You will also find a  popular Rose wine named Red Rita Rose which is a Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc blend.

Ok. If you are a red wine drinker then this is a great winery for you to visit. The whites are decent, especially the Traminette Gold.

But the Red Wines deserve most of the attention here.

Cabernet Franc – A mild fruity tasting wine, low in acidity. This one goes great with all types of salads. Grab this one if you’re a Vegetarian.

In a Heartbeat – A truly amazing blend Cabernet Franc and Merlot. This is a dry red wine aged in Oak barrels. Great with savory dishes.

Merlot - If you are a chocolate lover this wine goes excellent with your sweet tooth. This is a full bodied peppery, plum of red wine bursting with flavor.

Tasting Room

There’s a nice tasting room on the inside and a lovely wrap-around porch outside that’s perfect for wine sipping.

Interested in seeing a few pictures of the tasting area?

Parker-Binns Vineyard

Parker-Binns Vineyard is located in the Tryon Foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This sparsely populated but beautiful area of North Carolina is one of the fastest growing wine region in the state. There are many new wineries locate din this regions, not just Parker-Binns Vineyard.

Parker-Binns is owned and operated by a very hard working, experienced and unique married couple. This couple once cleared land in the everglades and established a nursery. You know that’s got to be hard and also dangerous with the gators and pythons.

But now this couple decided to explore and see if they have what it takes to operate a successful;l winery in North Carolina!!!

About this North Carolina Vineyard

Overview: Wines, wine tasting, weddings and other events.

Wines

I made the mistake of not writing the names of their different wines down when I visited here. I figured I would be able to visit their website to refresh my memory on their names and varieties.

But guess what? They don’t bother to put their wine list on their website!!! I figured this would be ocmmon sense to list your different wines.

The red wines I did have during the wine tasting here were good, I didn’t buy a bottle for home but I believe the one I like the most went by the name “Shortcake”.

Their wines are carried by many different wine outlets in the Yadkin Valley Area. This is usually a good sign for producing quality wines.

You can visit their website here. Maybe you will have some better luck on find wine descriptions.

Wine Room

This is a very nice room that can be rented out for private wine tasting events or other events such as: Business parties, meetings, weddings, etc.

Extremely nice wood flooring and bar. WiFi,  good HDTV setup and more.

If interested in finding a place in the Yadkin Valley to rent for your private event the wine tasting room at Shadow Springs Vineyard is a good option. Very Spacious. Learn more about renting at their website’s rental page.

Duplin Winery

Here’s some good advice when visiting Duplin Winery. If you do the wine tasting, then you need to taste the award winning Hatteras Red. If you visit the Bistro for lunch or dinner, the Black River Reuben is the best sandwich on the menu. You will also find a gourmet soup of the day, which are usually excellent.

Duplin Winery ReviewOpened in the 1970′s, Duplin Winery is the oldest winery in the state of North Carolina. A lot of great wineries exist on and near the coastal region of North Carolina, but this one by far is the most visited.

Reviews of Duplin Winery

If you have been wanting to visit one of the wineries on the coast of NC and Googling the names of different NC wineries to read reviews. Most of the reviews you will find about Duplin Winery are positive but you may have also read some negative reviews.

Not to go as far as to say Duplin is the very best winery in the state of North Carolina but many of the negative reviews, seem more than a little unfounded. One review gave a bad rating because they prevented him from breaking the law?

Another review gave this winery a bad rating because they had too many muscadine wines. If this person didn’t like muscadine wines, maybe this person shouldn’t have visited a winery that’s known for its muscadine wines?

Waldensian Heritage Wines

There’s a map further down the page if you’re searching for driving directions to Waldensian Heritage Wines.

What I remember most about visiting this winery is the beautiful drive through the North Carolina portion of the Smoky mountains. The drive happened to be during the autumn season and the colors couldn’t have been more amazing.

If you’re city folk vacationing here, take your family out for a drive its both beautiful and adventurous. And trust me a drive through the mountains will be a lasting memory for your family.

Waldensian Heritage Wines is located in the tiny mountain town of Valdese, NC. There’s a map below you can use to get driving directions.

The town of Valdese is a definitely a very tiny town. There really isn’t much reason to visit the town.

but it is near three towns (Hickory, Lenoir and Morganton) that draw

If you happen to be in or near the above mentioned cities and you have the urge to visit a winery for the atmosphere, events or tours or maybe you want to find a new favorite wine in North Carolina, then Waldensian Heritage Wines is a decent option for what is near by.

About Waldensian Heritage Wines

This is definitely not one of the bigger and most visited wineries in North Carolina. And the building that houses the winery could use a paint job but the wines are decent and sold at a very fair price. This isn’t a place for winery events or fabulous weddings.

But if you happen to be nearby the city Valdese, NC and your looking for a good bottle of wine then this winery is worth your time.

[google-map-v3 width="600" height="200" zoom="12" maptype="roadmap" mapalign="center" directionhint="false" language="default" poweredby="false" maptypecontrol="true" pancontrol="true" zoomcontrol="true" scalecontrol="true" streetviewcontrol="true" scrollwheelcontrol="false" draggable="true" tiltfourtyfive="false" addmarkermashupbubble="false" addmarkermashupbubble="false" addmarkerlist="4940 Villar Ln NE, Valdese, NC 28690{}1-default.png" bubbleautopan="true" showbike="false" showtraffic="false" showpanoramio="false"]

You will find about 8 different wines here. Traditional white and red wines. You will find these wine in both the sweet and dry and the light and full bodied.

You will not find muscadine wines here which are so common in the state of North Carolina.
