A very secluded and cool location. Visited here one cool autumn’s eve. As me and the party I came with walked up to the entrance of this little winery house in the forest, we heard what sounded like a wolf howling in the distance. Fitting but quite ironic to occur just as we were entering a place name Wolf Wines.
I fairly sure they was a speaker system set up outside as a way of greeting visitors. But the owner denied it with a smile on his face.
Anyways, the combination of the autumn night and the wine made for a great experience.
Below we speak a little more specific on the wines here and if you would like driving directions to this NC winery in the city of Snow Camp you can find a map towards the bottom of the page. This establishment is about 25 miles west of Raleigh.
Most bottles of wines here are in the $14-16 range. They do have one bottle of wine price at $30 and this is a Wild Blackberry Reserve and one of my buddies took a bottle of this home with him.
I believe a glass of wine at the winery is in the $4-5 range. I did sample the blackberry wine mentioned above and it had a delicious tangy taste.
You will find Reds, Whites and fruit wines at Wolf Winery. It seems as though they specialize more in fruit wines.
If I remember correctly, including the berry wine I mentioned above, there was also: Cherry, apple, blackberry, kiwi, strawberry.
But for you traditional wine drinkers they also have a Chardonnay and a couple very good red wines.
What type of events will you find at Wolf Winery?
Occasionally they will have a musical event. And they seem to like to make the entire day and nights out of their, usually starting in mid afternoon and running until 8 or 9 o’clock at night.
Besides on days where they is an event going on at the winery, I’m not aware of any regular food they offer.
This winery near Raleigh does have a beautiful forest like setting. If you would like to visit you can find your direction below on the map. Just click the red marker and enter your starting location.

Reds, Whites and some other wines.
What do I mean by other wines?
A wine named Estelle. This is a dessert wine. Once I drank a glass of this while eating a big Hershey chocolate bar and I thought I was in heaven for a second.
The other, other wine you will find at Junius Lindsay Vineyard. This one is called 2009 Special Delivery Rose. My sister said she felt like their was a butterfly in her mouth as she sipped this wine but I would describe the drinking experience as more like having a rose petal in your mouth.
All kidding aside this wine is excellent and goes great with grilled foods.
I actually love the wine labels used by this winery. I usally don’t do this because I want you to stay on my site but here is a link to their wine page. I’m only doing this because I really like these wines and want you to see exactly what they can offer you at the winery.
From my experience you will be able to find events going on here every month of the year. Usually numerous events most months.
There’s a lot of music events. Also wine and food events. And sometimes small business education events or different educational events.
Very good winery for events!!! They get an A+ from me.
Another Good Reason
Another great reason to visit this winery in Lexington NC is because their are a few other wineries located very close by so you can actually make your own little winery tour. There’s Childress, Native Vines and Weathervane Winery. Don’t ask me which one is my favorite, these are all top notch.

The last time I was here there were about 6 different traditional wines here. Reds, Whites, Blushes. From sweet to semi-sweet to dry. They have three very good fruit wines: Blueberry, Strawberry and Peach.
I love fruit wines and I specifically loved their Blueberry wine. Great tasting and the deep blue of blueberries provides a great source for antioxidants.
If you are more of a traditional wine person. For you I would recommend you try the Red Oak Semi-sweet wine. If you prefer white wines they also have a white oak sweet wine made from Carlos Grapes.
These are just my recommendations there are plenty other great wines to taste and take home. I have always wanted to try the strawberry wine here but have yet to do so.
And how is a bottle of wine here. I believe most of their wines cost around the $10 per bottle. A very reasonable price for some very good North Carolina wines. You can also order their wines online if you find a favorite and live too far to make the trip back.
